When it gets too hot

Gavin Schmidt, who heads NASA’s temperature team, said “the long-term trend is very, very clear. And it’s because of us. And it’s not going to go away until we stop increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.”


Each year, @NOAA and @NASAGISS climate researchers come together to analyze temperatures around the planet, calculating the global average temperature.

2021 was tied for sixth warmest year since modern record-keeping began.
