Mark today, December 19, 2021, as the day one senator, elected by 290,000 voters in one of the least populous states, goes on the Fox channel to announce that he's 'done everything humanly possible' (to take a hammer to climate plans) and so, after months of negotiations and compromises to meet his demands as 'swing vote' in the US Senate, he will kill the Build Back Better and all climate provisions that are at the heart of an #EnvironmentalProtection future and #EconomicRevival with a new strategic vision.

Manchin's surprise was loud and swept the before Christmas news waves. The Office of the President reacts with a Jen Psaki press office statement and promise to continue on trying for passage 'next year'.

Psaki: “Senator Manchin’s comments this morning on FOX are at odds with his discussions this week with the President, with White House staff, and with his own public utterances.”

“Weeks ago, Senator Manchin committed to the President, at his home in Wilmington, to support the Build Back Better framework that the President then subsequently announced. Senator Manchin pledged repeatedly to negotiate on finalizing that framework ‘in good faith.'”

Across the globe, the U.S. is seen again by the world governments as untrustworthy and dysfunctional politically, as nations attempt to deal with post-Glasgow calls for action, real climate action beyond promises, to step up and confront the clear and present danger of the #ClimateCrisis.
