Gov. Rick Scott: 'What climate change?'

Begin with a cool 192M and keep on spending .... http://futurist.cc/2017/08/12/miami-mayor-wants-to-spend-192-million-on-sea-rise-flood-prevention/

https://therealdeal.com/miami/2017/08/14/miami-beach-residents-push-back-against-plans-to-raise-streets-to-combat-sea-level-rise/

Two weeks ago, developer Matis Cohen was busy helping motorists push their stranded cars as waist-high water flushed through the streets of Miami Beach. Unlike many residents who were hunkered down at home or at work as more than six inches of rain flooded the city in two hours, Cohen was out in the streets, checking on tenants of his rental properties. Cohen, who said he was lucky to have a Jeep, wants the city to speed up its plans to raise streets and install pumps. “We’ve spent somewhere around $80 million so far out of a $400 million plan, and clearly a system cannot be judged if it is only 15-percent implemented...

The city will embark on a $100 million project to raise roads, install pumps and water mains and redo sewer connections during the next two years across a swath of single-family homes in the La Gorce and Lakeview neighborhoods of Mid-Beach. A sizable chunk of a citywide effort estimated to cost $400 to $500 million, the work is meant to keep streets dry in the face of sea level rise.
