How to Upload Files: Documents/Images-Graphics

Step 1 - Select the Original Source file(s) -- documents and/or images-graphic files -- you intend to upload and prepare them

 • They need to be rendered in one of the GP360 wiki-acceptable formats: pdf, png, gif, jpg, jpeg
 • Choose a unique name/description to give your file content
 • The allowed maximum file size is 64MB (Smaller/compressed files will load more quickly and depending on your connection speed to the Internet you may want to choose smaller/compressed files to speed uploads.) Save your images-graphics so that they are under 800 pixels maximum
 • Some images-graphics files will need to be re-sized to fit appropriately into the page layout. You may need to render several file sizes and upload these individually and preview until you have a page layout you approve
 • Note the content should not be copyrighted material unless suitable permission for distribution of these documents has been obtained and/or the material is allowed to be distributed by way of ‘fair use’ or other means, including Creative Commons license. Many government materials are available freely for public distribution and public-interest/educational materials are often intended for public distribution. - See Use of Materials on this Site

Step 2 - After choosing/preparing the Original Source file(s) you will be uploading, go to the ‘Upload file’ template form below and Browse to the file content-doc/image on your computer or internet page location.

 • Clicking on the Browse button will enable you to search and select your Source file(s) for uploading. Once you select and click the file(s) to be uploaded, you have an option to select exactly where you want to display your files within the GreenPolicy360 site
 • Go to the All Pages-Index Index or Categories page and choose in what Category/topic area you want to display your content
 • In the File description-Summary field below, use double brackets to link your content file to the Category page you select, for example, use double bracket Category:Climate Policy double bracket, that is if you want to upload a doc/image to the 'Climate Policy' category-topic page
The following markups are examples how you can then select to display your file doc/image on a page:
to use the full-sized version of your file
to use a 200 pixel-wide rendition of the image displayed in a box in the left margin of a page with 'alt text' as description
for directly linking to a file source without displaying the file
Note Wiki_markup 1 and Wiki_cheatsheet 2 for additional information on markup options -- also coming soon, Semantic MediaWiki 3
