Description:

“The purpose of the Renewable Energy Special Projects Committee (RESPC) shall be to increase the use of renewable energy on campus through the creation and funding of projects on campus."-RESPC Constitution

RESPC was formed in April 2003 for this purpose. Since then, the RESPC has been budgeting for roughly $184,932 per year that is generated from the Green Energy Campaign's student fee. The fee was approved by the UNC system’s Board of Governors and first went into effect in the 2004-05 school year.

In February 2005, the referendum was renewed with approval by 85% of student body votes! This time the referendum will stay in effect for 4 years. See you again in 2009!

Composed of 7 students and 4 faculty/staff/administration members, the committee works with project creation, implementation of projects into campus buildings, grant writing, and public relations. The student members meet on Thursday evenings, usually in the Union Annex. Meetings are open to the public. The full committee meets on the second Friday of every month at 2.30PM, usually in room 307A of South Building.
