Daisies

Flowers of the Sun

The name Daisies originated with the English daisy, Bellis perennis. The word "daisy" joins together two words, "Day's Eye" or "Daes eage", and references the fact that English daisies close at night and open their petals again with the appearance of the sun at daylight.

Daisies symbolize innocence, gentleness, and purity.

Daisies according to legend are favored by 'Dryads', tree spirits, often have close bonds and communication with the tree spirits, and each flower has a message, according to a Language of Flowers.
