Description:

Bikes for Tykes … and big kids, too!
Bikes for Tykes and Big Kids Too, is an award-winning recycling program that works with volunteers to restore bicycles destined for disposal and distributes bikes to those in need in our community and beyond throughout the year.

The program is a cooperative effort between the City's Solid Waste Services and community volunteers and organizations who are passionate about helping others and making a difference.

Interested in volunteering?
Just a little bit of your time makes the wheels turn. Slip some handle grips, tighten a seat, wash a bike, twist a wrench, oil a chain... there is lots to be done! Volunteers need not be experienced at repairing bicycles, all you need to bring with you is the ENTHUSIASM to want to put a smile on a child's face.

All are welcome -- young or old, kids and adults -- JUST HAVE A BIG HEART! Individuals, families, city or community organizations or student clubs or organizations can request bicycles to work on off-site.

For more information call Solid Waste Services.
