Description:

Be rewarded for creating an environmentally friendly garden.

DID YOU KNOW? Many of our urban landscapes are resource-hungry. They require substantial inputs of water, energy, nutrients and chemicals to survive, may use materials taken from bushland and provide little habitat for native animals.

Sustainable landscapes work in harmony with the local environment. They use good design to integrate low water use plants, non-weedy plants, low chemical use, low energy consumption, habitat creation, water conservation and the use of sustainable products.

The Sustainable Landscapes Incentive Scheme seeks to reward the thorough planning involved in creating a garden that makes a holistic contribution to our environment by addressing all the above Sustainable Landscape Principles.

Whether your outdoor space is a balcony, roof-top, courtyard or back yard you can create a garden that contributes to a sustainable urban environment. The following incentives are available for properties in the City of Adelaide (Please refer to eligibility criteria and conditions in the brochure below):

1. Up to $500 reimbursement towards the design and construction of a garden which meets the Sustainable Landscapes Principles and is designed by a registered landscape designer; OR
2. Up to $350 reimbursement towards the design and construction of a garden which meets the Sustainable Landscapes Principles.; OR
3. Up to $100 reimbursement towards the purchase of local native plants from local seed sources for use in a garden.
