GreenPolicy360: We were there at what we came to call the startup, the launch. The first-ever blue-green image of our home, Planet Earth, opened eyes. A movement began and we were there making it happen, giving it form, speed and scope --

We heard an Anthropologist, Dr. Barbara Myerhoff, refer to us as 'participant-observers', and the good professor was partly right.

The rest of the story is we were and, now as a worldwide movement, continue to be visionary-activists.

GreenPolicy360, in many primary-source ways, and through the perspectives of many young people, is presenting a first-hand account of a Generation Green... Going Green...

Many of our stories are up close and personal, the 'primary source' accounts from the 1960s, for example, thinking of 'wouldn't it be great to have clean air', this in Los Angeles with some of the most polluted air on the planet, the 'Smog' in the LA Basin, and the turning the wishful thinking into legislative, technological change that created clean air models that came to be successfully used by the U.S. and expand to cities and nations 360...

At GreenPolicy360, you can 'zoom in and surf around', drill down and go spelunking, and have your eyes opened too, envisioning and dreaming what can be and become..

We built GreenPolicy360 as a sharing, open-source platform, a MediaWiki, a person-to-person, community-by-community eco Operating System (eOS) network.

Beginnings of a Modern Eco-Movement





GreenPolicy360 Founder-Site-runner: I can see back to the beginning of an Earth Observation "Inventory" he envisioned when he was proposing and shepherding a new Landsat program into existence. I remember years of learning, sharing and work alongside a congressman setting in motion and advancing decades of U.S. Earth science research programs. George E. Brown was a special person who brought a physics and engineering background to Congress. George saw what others didn't really understand. Your GreenPolicy360 siterunner immediately began to realize the future to come when our East LA Representative showed me documents and spoke of the Mission Statement of NASA. -- “To understand and protect our home planet..."


We were envisioning Earth Science in the 1960s/70s as 'Big Science' and where the science research study our home planet needed to go. Representative Brown became an 'out in front' leader of the first-generation U.S. funded 'Science, Technology, and Space' missions, initiatives and programs in the decades that followed. A modern environmental movement was being envisioned and launched... science delivered strong, lasting assistance...
