Lost Opportunity

GreenPolicy360 and strategic Demands advocated for mutual security solutions throughout the run up to Russian forces February 24th assault on Ukraine. We wrote of diplomacy that could address a wider array of challenges, including nuclear weapons threats:

Our hopes for a new vision and nuclear weapons mutual drawdown, brought on with diplomatic realism that perceives security as mutual goals, indivisible security goals, is in danger of being lost as hard power rolls across borders. Although diplomacy always has hope, the lost opportunity of Ukraine bringing on wider, deeper, broader negotiations delivering a new security framework to build on going forward could be close to being lost.
