Description:

Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) is committed to providing sustainable, viable transportation options for the ASU community. To that end, PTS sponsors the car-sharing program Zipcar.

Zipcar provides low-emission, fuel-efficient vehicles for use by members of the campus community. Ten Zipcar vehicles, including Scions, Honda hybrids, a Toyota Tacoma and a MINI Cooper, are parked in various locations on the Tempe campus.

For a $35 annual fee, Zipcar members can:

  • reserve a vehicle for use, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for an hourly or daily rate
  • get rates starting as low as $9 per hour
  • get all expenses covered: FREE gas, FREE insurance and FREE maintenance are included in hourly/daily rates

Zipcar is ideal for residence hall students who did not bring a car to campus and need to reserve a vehicle for use for a trip to the grocery store or local shopping mall. For commuter students, as well as ASU faculty and staff members, Zipcar provides a way for them to use an alternate form of transportation to travel to campus, but still have a vehicle available for them should they need to run an errand during the day.
