Graduate Student Association Resolution

WHEREAS The Graduate Students Association represents approximately 10,000 graduate and professional school students at the University of California, Los Angeles,

WHEREAS GSA has actively supported the Environmental Coalition financially and through providing resources,

WHEREAS graduate students as a whole have a deep concern for environmental issues ranging from fair trade coffee to helping the homeless,

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Graduate Students Association hereby establish the UCLA Environmental Resource Center located in Kerckhoff Hall Room 129,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Environmental Resource Center will serve as a clearinghouse for information, educational tools, training materials, and other materials and activities dealing with issues of the environment and social issues of concern to students on campus,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT we change the cabinet level position of Director of the Environmental Coalition to be entitled the Director of the Environmental Resource Center, who is charged with development and implementation of this resolution including working closely with university units such as the Institute for the Environment,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Environmental Resource Center will permanently house and support the Environmental Coalition which will provide the center with its programmatic needs,

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED THAT the Graduate Students Association encourages all graduate students and the UCLA community to take full advantage of this new resource.
