RESOLUTION NO. 07-26

WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Town of Taos recognizes the need for recreation activities in the community; and

WHEREAS, the Governing Body considers Taos Youth and Family Center to be a quality facility which should be utilized by the community; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Taos desires that the facility be utilized to its highest capacity; and

WHEREAS, the costs of using the facility, though affordable, may still be excessive for those with low incomes; and

WHEREAS, decreasing the cost for participating in Town of Taos programs and activities at the Taos Youth and Family may prove beneficial to many members of our community;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY THAT the rates for admissions to Taos Skating Rink and the rates for admissions and lessons at Taos Swimming Pool will be adjusted on a sliding scale based on income. Those who qualify will be charged ½ the normal rate for admissions and lessons.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this reduction will take place after families have completed the required documentation, and that said documentation must be completed annually.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that families will qualify for this reduction based on the State of New Mexico free and reduced lunch income guidelines.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that individual family members will receive identification cards that must be presented at the Center each time they visit in order to receive this reduction.
