Description:

The Cavan RAPID Programme was launched in February 2002 and involves agencies working in cooperation with each other and the community to combat social exclusion and disadvantage.

This involves an Area Implementation Team delivering the programme at local level whose members include:

• Local community representatives.
• Local state agencies.
• Local development agencies.

The Area Implementation Team then works to wards securing state funding for projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing facilities and services in the area. Previous projects and initiatives have included:

• Social housing.
• Childcare.
• Youth work.
• Family support.
• Development of parks.
• Enhancement of play areas.
• Leisure facilities for young people.
• Establishment of youth clubs.
